Clenching/Grinding Therapy (TMJ Dysfunction Treatment)

The Tempero-Mandibular Joint(TMJ) is the joint that connects your lower jaw to your skull. Some suffer from TMJ dysfunction and may experience jaw pain on opening the mouth, jaw muscle soreness, headaches, popping of the jaw joint, clenching/grinding, neck and shoulder pain, and chronic fatigue. Treatment of TMJ can vary as the cause is often multi-factorial and may involve other professionals, including a physician, a cranio-mandibular specialist, and a physiotherapist. In most cases an appliance for night-time use can be fabricated to treat the condition and can result in a significant improvement of symptoms. Additionally, therapeutic Botox can be administered to relax the muscles and provide relief. Please see our page on therapeutic Botox for more information. Proper diagnosis is key to successful treatment. Come in for a thorough examination with Dr. Gary Senderovich to determine if TMJ therapy may be beneficial for you.
